BS 2S515 (2S514 soft conditions) to 2S500 conditions is the mating sheet material for BS4T45-BS4T100 carbon steel seamless tube.

• The material is supplied as 2000mm x 350mm wide strip.

• Chemical composition is similar to the BS4T45-BS4T100 tube.

• In the supplied condition the sheet is workable with typical mechanical results:

  Ultimate Tensile Strength: 460-600N/mm²

  Hardness: HB 179 max.

  Elongation: < 1.6mm ► 14% minimum = 1.6mm - 2.4mm ► 17% minimum > 2.4mm ► 20% minimum

  Actual results will usually be approximately 5% higher.

  After hardening and tempering to 2S514 conditions.

  Ultimate Tensile Strength: 770-1000N/mm²

  0.2% proof 630N/mm²

  Elongation: < 1.6mm ► 8% minimum = 1.6mm - 2.4mm ► 10% minimum > 2.4mm ► 12% minimum

• Heat treatment is only necessary where a higher ultimate tensile strength is mandatory.

• Strips are supplied and stocked in the following sizes: 6swg, 8swg, 10swg, 12swg, 14swg, 16swg, 18swg, 20swg and 22swg.
