Elmdon Metals was first set up following a suggestion from one of the Purchasing Managers of a Formula One Team. He needed a reliable supplier that clearly understood all his requirements for fit-for-purpose specialist metals.

He felt no other stock-holder at the time could offer the reliable, consistent service and the technical support he and his team required: hence Elmdon Metals was born.

Both parties grew with each other for some time, but as word spread around the industry, Elmdon Metals moved forward to the front of the supply industry not just in F1, but all forms of Motor Sports.

We moved from a starter unit on the then Elmdon Aerodrome to one of the premier sites in the West Midlands area: Elmdon Trading Estate. We were based there for 5 years before merging with Winged Aviation Material Supplies Limited in June 2006.

Both companies were co-located into one site in the Northampton area (home of the Motorsports Industry in the UK) in Febuary 2008.

Winged Aviation Material Supplies Limited is one of the UK’s Specialist suppliers of American-specification raw materials, holding many grades in MIL-STD and AMS grades. Winged Aviation also hold many approvals from ISO9002:2000, SQA50 Westlands, BAE Systems Regional Approval, JFS (Joint Strike Fighter), and many many more.
